Terms and Conditions – Damage, Liability & Recovery of Costs
By confirming a booking and occupying the property, the guest (and all members of their party) agree to be fully responsible and liable for the condition of the property during their stay and upon departure.
1. Responsibility for Damage
The guest agrees to take reasonable care of the property, its furnishings, fixtures, appliances, and all contents. Any damage, breakage, loss, or excessive soiling caused during the stay (whether accidental or deliberate) must be reported immediately.
2. Liability for Costs
The guest accepts full financial responsibility for:
• Any damage to the property or its contents
• Missing items
• Additional cleaning required due to misuse or neglect
• Repairs, replacements, or loss of income resulting from the damage
These costs will be charged to the guest and must be paid in full upon request.
3. Method of Recovery
If payment is not made voluntarily, the property owner/management reserves the right to recover costs by any lawful means, including but not limited to:
• Charging the card used for the booking (where permitted)
• Claiming through the booking platform
• Deducting from any security deposit (if applicable)
• Issuing a formal invoice
• Pursuing recovery through debt collection agencies
• Commencing legal proceedings, including through the UK Small Claims Court or other appropriate legal channels
All legal fees, court costs, administrative charges, and recovery expenses incurred will be added to the amount owed where legally permissible.
4. Joint and Several Liability
The lead guest making the booking accepts responsibility on behalf of all occupants and visitors and shall be jointly and severally liable for any damages or losses caused by any member of their party.
5. Right of Inspection
Management reserves the right to inspect the property after checkout and document any damage, missing items, or abnormal wear and tear.
6. Serious Breaches
Intentional damage, vandalism, illegal activity, or serious misuse of the property may result in immediate termination of the stay without refund and full recovery of losses through legal action.
